PESH Photography | Matt Tomlinson
There was no shortage of talented photographers who participated in last year's expedition to the Huautla area caves. Working deep underground in complete darkness is a very unique challenge; an art all of it's own.

Remembering Ron Simmons
The late Ron Simmons' first international caving expedition was to Sistema Huautla in 1980. A prolific explorer, Simmons lost his life in a tragic cave diving accident in 2007, and generously left a portion of his estate to the National Speleological Society. The Ron Simmons Award, is the largest NSS grant to help fund international cave exploration.
Please enjoy these vintage Huautla photographs captured by Ron Simmons himself.
